After the success of their acclaimed production of Angels in America Part 1: The Millenium Approaches earlier this year, The Arts Club Theatre Company returns on September 7th with the second part of the epic play.
A direct continuation of the first half, Perestroika is a revolution against the politics and prejudice in the 1980s as the AIDS epidemic rages on, and the characters wrestle with their ideologies and an angel looking for an answer. In the centre of it all is Prior Walter, a man in a world of peril who chooses to live in his light.
Missed the first half? That’s okay. There is a beautiful mini-series version of the play, and the script is also available at the Vancouver Public Library and in bookstores.
Perestroika is directed by Kim Collier and runs September 7 – October 8, 2017.
